The man, who has not been named, was arrested on suspicion of illegally selling the drug to the public, police said in a statement.
The man’s identity and the drugs were not revealed, but authorities are unsure if the drug was bought from a source.
In a separate arrest warrant posted on the man’s computer, officers found a package that contained the drug, the statement said.
The package, which contained 50 mg of the drug, was mailed out to the U. S. mail in New York in the middle of May, authorities said.
The drug is sold as an oral treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED) and is available as a prescription drug in the U. S., and is sometimes sold under the brand name Viagra, which is often referred to as the “little blue pill.”
In addition to the drug, the man has been charged with several other charges.
The police had already received information from multiple sources, including sources in the DEA and the Food and Drug Administration, and are reviewing it, the statement said.
The man, who has not been named, was taken into custody at the New York Regional Medical Center in Manhattan on May 17, and is expected to remain under arrest.
The Food and Drug Administration is also investigating the matter, according to the statement.
The man was arrested Wednesday morning at the Brooklyn Airport, a spokesman for the New York Police Department said.
